Cunningham House

We offer supported sheltered housing within a warm and caring environment. Our resident housekeeper supplies breakfast as well as two nutritious home cooked meals every day. We encourage and support independence and provide a secure and nurturing home. Located in the heart of Pirbright, a picturesque Surrey village with excellent road and rail links, Cunningham House affords the opportunity to participate in the many activities taking place in the village.

Cunningham House (Pirbright and District Abbeyfield Society) is affiliated to Abbeyfield, a charity which was established in 1956 by Richard Carr-Gomm. Abbeyfield is a national not-for-profit organisation which is dedicated to making the lives of older people easier and more fulfilling. Abbeyfield enables people to live independently by providing housing and a range of services which are linked to the local community. Abbeyfield actively encourages the involvement of volunteers and although Cunningham House employs a housekeeper and cleaner, it is managed by a team of local volunteers. This enables us to keep our running costs and fees low and helps to promote the individual feel of Cunningham House.

Nationally Abbeyfield provides 750 sheltered houses where elderly people can find security, companionship and independence.

Through the Abbeyfield society, Cunningham House is closely linked with Wey Valley Extra Care Home in Farnham. If a resident requires more support than we are able to offer, we will assist them in making an application.
